2009 began with some great news for our customers, as not only did we manage to hold our charges for the FOURTH consecutive year, but the cut in the VAT rate in January meant even more value for money when using our services.

The year started on an exciting note for us, as we were awarded the contract to build web sites for a new record company and one of their up-and-coming artists.  This was an important time for us, as we look to progress our web-development reputation.  A first for Ocelot was on the cards in April, as we travelled to South America to provide hardware and services to an overseas client based in Brazil.  Summer 2009 saw Ocelot begin the final stage of development of the new version of the World-leading Academy of Feng Shui software.  Since the release of the first version back in 2005, the Academy, as it has affectionately become known, has sold to clients in 58 countries and is fast becoming the industry standard for the worldwide Feng Shui community.

With more successful web design projects completed and more new clients enlisting Ocelot Solutions as a solution provider, the latter part of 2009 provided another first, as we broke last years record for virtual miles saved, by rolling out our remote assistance services to 75% of customers.  This has saved us over 7,000 miles in travel, which smashes the 2008 figure.  Following hot on the heels of the release of the Academy of Feng Shui 3 software, Ocelot travelled to North America in November to provide services to a long-standing client, as well as taking an opportunity for some well earned time-off.

With more web sites currently in development, four new pieces of software targeted for release in early 2010, the future looks bright and very exciting for Ocelot Solutions.  In 2010 we will be starting iPhone application development for one of our biggest clients.  Along with this, we’ll be unveiling our brand new Facebook presence, our new Twitter account and a new-look web site.

Unfortunately, the last year has seen a considerable increase in our running costs, and we have had to increase our hourly charges by £5.  We are sure you will agree that this still represents fantastic value for money in these tough, economic times.  January 2010 will also see the VAT rate return to it’s 2008 value of 17.5%.  This rate will be applied to all invoices issued on or after January 1st 2010.
